Therapy for Adults
& Teens in California
Provider Identification & Licensure
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California (LMFT #27667) providing online and in-person therapy for adults and teens struggling with binge eating, emotional eating, and disordered relationships with food and body image.
Primary Fit Anchor
I work with adults and older teens who struggle with binge eating, emotional eating, and distressing relationships with food and body image. Many of the people I support think about food or their body most of the day and feel exhausted by years of trying to control eating through diets, medications, surgery, or willpower.
My work is for people who want to understand why food has taken on so much emotional weight and to develop more sustainable, compassionate ways of relating to eating and their body over time, within outpatient psychotherapy.
Strong Fit Contexts
This work is often a strong fit if you:
- Experience binge eating or emotional eating, especially during stress or overwhelm
- Feel preoccupied with food, weight, or body image despite trying many interventions
- Feel pressure to “get it right” with food and are worn down by that effort
- Want to explore the emotional, relational, and historical patterns connected to eating
- Are open to ongoing, insight-oriented therapy rather than quick fixes
I tend to work best with clients who are reflective, curious about their inner world, and interested in long-term change.
Who I Work With by Age Group
I work with adults and older teens (typically ages 16 and up).
With teens, therapy is developmentally appropriate and may include caregiver involvement when clinically indicated.
My work with teens focuses on emotional awareness, coping, and understanding eating patterns—not on weight loss. I do not provide family-based treatment (FBT) or parent-led refeeding models.
When This May Not Be the Right Fit
This may not be the best fit if you:
- Are seeking crisis or emergency care
- Are experiencing medical instability related to an eating disorder (e.g., fainting, purging behaviors, significant restriction)
- Require a higher level of care such as IOP, PHP, or residential treatment
- Are looking for meal plans, nutrition counseling, or weight-loss-focused treatment
- Require active medical or nutritional management as part of eating disorder treatment that I am not currently involved in
- Want a strictly short-term or skills-only approach
- Are seeking insurance-based services
When higher-acuity eating disorder care is needed, I support clients in finding appropriate multidisciplinary treatment.
If you’re unsure, a brief consultation can help clarify whether this level of care is appropriate.
Therapeutic Approach & Style
My approach is depth-oriented and relational. We focus on the underlying patterns that shape how you relate to food, your body, and yourself.
In therapy, we may explore:
- Emotional regulation and nervous system responses connected to eating
- Perfectionism, self-criticism, or internal pressure around food and body image
- Long-standing relational or coping patterns
- The impact of past experiences on present-day eating behaviors
My work emphasizes insight, emotional awareness, and sustainable change over time—not control-based strategies or rigid rules.
